A disturbing video from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has gone viral on social media, showing a couple walking through waist-deep floodwater with their baby lifted high above their heads to protect him. The video, taken in the Chhota Baghada area, reflects how badly residents are struggling, as nonstop rain has led to flooding in the city.

The video shows homes, temples, and vehicles underwater, with garbage floating in the water. Many people can be seen wading through the water, trying to carry important belongings and help family members reach safer places.

Rising Water Causes Chaos in the City

Heavy rain has made the situation worse in Prayagraj. Both the Ganga and Yamuna rivers have crossed the danger level. Neighbourhoods like Chhota Baghada are now completely flooded. Streets are full of water, houses are either partly or fully underwater, and normal life has come to a stop.

The video also shows how people are leaving their homes, some carrying children or elders, as they move through the water. Everyday life has been badly affected, and people are waiting for help while the rain continues without any break.

The cremation site is also affected.

Even last rites have been impacted by the flood. At Rasulabad Ghat, a place used for cremation, services have been temporarily stopped as the area is now under water. The water level in the rivers continues to rise, creating more problems for the locals.

Many Villages and Districts Affected

Floods across Uttar Pradesh have caused serious problems in many areas. As per official information, 402 villages across 37 tehsils have been affected, with 84,392 people facing trouble due to the rising water. Seventeen districts, including Prayagraj, Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Chitrakoot, and others, are dealing with severe flooding. People in these areas are still struggling with no major relief so far, as the rainfall has not stopped.
